Terms of Use

Last updated: July 30, 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Pure Decode Skin app and website (“the app”, “the service”), operated by Rui Kobayashi (“we”, “us”). By using the app you agree to these Terms. If you obtained the app from the Apple App Store, Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement also applies, and where it conflicts with these Terms, the stricter user-protective term prevails.

1. What the app does

Pure Decode Skin reads the printed ingredients (INCI) list on cosmetics, skincare, and household products using AI, and presents an informational safety assessment — including irritant and allergen flags, pregnancy and halal indicators, pore-clogging (comedogenic) risk, and a letter grade.

2. Informational only — not medical advice

Important. The app is a guide based on publicly available ingredient information and automated analysis. It is not medical, dermatological, or professional advice; it can be inaccurate or incomplete; and it cannot detect ingredients that are not printed on the label. Always read the actual product label and consult a qualified professional about allergies, pregnancy, medical conditions, or reactions. You use the app’s output at your own discretion and risk.

3. Free use, subscriptions, and top-ups

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service, including attempting to disrupt it, reverse-engineer it other than as permitted by law, or use automated systems to overload the scan API. We may limit or suspend access to protect the service.

5. Intellectual property

The app, its design, and its content are owned by us or our licensors and are provided under a limited, personal, non-transferable license for your own use. Product names and brands referenced during scanning belong to their respective owners.

6. No warranty

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any decision made in reliance on the app’s output. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the preceding 12 months.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms as the app evolves; the “Last updated” date reflects the current version. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
